Floors & Fix installs LVT flooring in Weybridge across KT13, from the Victorian streets near the town centre to the Brooklands new-build quarter. LVT is the preferred choice for kitchens, hallways and open-plan living spaces across Weybridge's housing stock. All subfloor prep, fitting and door trimming are included in our fixed-price quote.
Weybridge is an affluent Thames-side town combining Victorian and Edwardian detached and semi-detached properties in the old town and St George's Hill areas with interwar housing along roads such as Oatlands Drive and Portmore Park Road, and modern apartments and new-builds near the Brooklands regeneration site. Suspended timber ground floors are prevalent in the pre-1939 stock; screed and UFH-screed are the norm in the Brooklands quarter and post-1990 developments.
£820,000 median residential property price in KT13, above the Elmbridge Borough average of £680,000 — Land Registry UK HPI, Elmbridge Borough Council housing statistics 2023
LVT is consistently one of the most requested products in Weybridge, particularly for kitchen and open-plan living areas in Edwardian, interwar and 1970s properties undergoing refurbishment. On suspended timber ground floors — widespread in properties on Plot Road, Heath Road and the older Oatlands streets — we install 6mm structural ply before fitting LVT to provide the rigid, flat base the product demands. For Brooklands UFH-screed floors, we select products rated for heated substrates and carry out moisture and temperature testing on every survey visit. The Elmbridge Borough planning area has a high proportion of period kitchen extensions where old screed has been applied over original flagstone; we assess these situations individually and advise the most practical solution.
The old Weybridge town and St George's Hill Road area contains a significant number of substantial Victorian and Edwardian detached homes — four to six bedroom properties on Plot Road, Queens Road and Heath Road. Suspended timber ground floors with original or replacement pine boards are universal. Ventilated subfloor voids are generally adequate but regular visual inspections for joist condition are advisable in homes backing onto the River Wey flood plain.
Click-lock LVT opens at the joints when boards flex beneath it, and the suspended timber in St George's Hill and old-town Weybridge houses flexes plenty. We screw 6mm ply down at 200mm centres first, or switch to glue-down where the deflection is marginal. Either way the preparation is inside the fixed price agreed at your home visit.
The Oatlands Drive, Portmore Park Road and Elgin Road corridors are lined with 1920s–1940s semis and detached homes of four to five bedrooms. Subfloors are mixed — suspended timber in the main reception rooms of the older examples, solid concrete in those built from the mid-1930s onwards. DPC failures in lower-lying Oatlands properties adjacent to the River Mole tributaries can elevate ground-floor moisture readings.
Interwar homes on Oatlands Drive and Elgin Road mix suspended timber and solid concrete under one roof, so we assess every room at the visit — ply over the boards, priming and levelling on the slabs. DPC failures in the lower Oatlands plots show up on the hygrometer, and a moisture suppressant goes down where readings demand it.
The Brooklands regeneration — developed on the former Brooklands motor circuit and Mercedes-Benz UK site — introduced a large number of contemporary apartments and houses from the early 2000s onwards on roads including Brooklands Road and Byfleet Road. UFH-screed ground floors are standard across the Brooklands residential quarter. Some units feature polished concrete finishes alongside fitted flooring areas.
Underfloor heating runs through every Brooklands Road and Byfleet Road screed, and that means glue-down LVT only — click-lock is not rated for continuous heat cycling. Total thermal resistance stays at or below 0.15 m²K/W, and the specification is confirmed in writing against your system before fitting begins.
Substantial post-war detached homes are spread across Weybridge's residential fringe, including roads off Church Street and Hamm Moor Lane. Solid concrete slab construction is the rule. Many of these properties have been extended and refurbished, resulting in screed overlays of varying depths and quality in kitchens and ground-floor extensions. Sub-floor level variations at room thresholds are a common challenge.
The 1950s–70s slabs around Church Street and Hamm Moor Lane take LVT well once primed and levelled, click or glue-down to suit the room. Repeated extensions have left these houses with screed overlays of varying depth, so we self-level the threshold junctions to get one flat plane before a plank goes down. It is all in the fixed written quote.
Floors & Fix Fitting Team did an excellent job from start to finish. The team was professional, punctual, and paid great attention to detail throughout the installation. The flooring was fitted to a very high standard, and the finished result has completely transformed the space. They kept everything tidy, communicated clearly, and made sure every aspect of the job was completed perfectly. Yes — we cover all of KT13 including Weybridge town centre, Oatlands, Brooklands, St George's Hill, New Haw and West Byfleet. Free home visit, fixed price on the day, with full prep and fitting included.
Yes — we install a ply overlay first to give the rigid, flat base LVT requires. Without ply, LVT over flexible boards will develop cracks in the wear layer over time. We include ply in the quoted price after assessing your floor on the survey.
Yes — we specify multi-layer LVT products rated for UFH use from Karndean or Amtico. Surface temperature must not exceed 27°C; we test on site and confirm before installation begins.
A standard kitchen and connected hallway takes one day. Ply overlay in the older Oatlands and Queens Road houses, or levelling work on extended 1950s–70s slabs off Church Street, may add a preparation day — we plan it in advance to minimise disruption.
We work primarily with Karndean, Amtico and Polyflor Expona — all brands that offer premium wood and stone visuals suited to Weybridge's higher-specification homes. We bring samples to your home visit.
We come to you with samples, measure up and give you a fixed price on the day. No obligation, no deposit. See our lvt flooring service or flooring fitters in Weybridge.
