Floors & Fix supplies and fits carpet, LVT, laminate and engineered wood across Feltham and the full TW13–TW14 postcode — including the town centre Victorian streets around Hanworth Road and New Road, the 1950s–60s semis in Hanworth and Bedfont, and the 1930s stock closer to the town centre. Subfloor types vary significantly across TW13 and TW14 — from concrete slabs in the post-war semis to original deal-board suspended timber in the older terraces — and we assess and prepare every one as part of the fixed price. Yes — we cover the full TW13 and TW14 postcodes including Feltham town centre, Hanworth, Bedfont and the Hatton Cross area. There is no call-out charge anywhere in the area, and we offer free home visits including evenings and weekends.
The 1950s and 1960s semis in Hanworth and Bedfont were almost universally built with concrete ground floors — solid slab construction with no suspended timber. LVT is the strongest choice here: we test for moisture at the free visit, apply a surface DPM if readings are elevated, self-level any low spots or ridges and glue the LVT directly to the prepared slab. The result is a completely stable, waterproof floor that won't move or creak. Laminate and engineered wood on a foam underlay are also options if moisture readings are satisfactory. We assess and price all routes at the visit.
Victorian terraces on and around New Road, Hanworth Road and the town centre streets were built from the 1870s to the early 1900s with standard softwood deal boards — typically 100–125mm wide. Condition varies. Properties that have been owner-occupied tend to have boards in reasonable to good shape; those that have been heavily rented often have loose boards, missing sections or previous tiling adhesive on the surface. At the free visit we walk the floor, probe for rot and assess movement. We then re-nail or screw any loose boards, fill significant gaps with a flexible compound, grind off adhesive residue if present and install a ply overlay to create a flat, stable substrate. All of this is included in the fixed price.
